Privacy policy
The Miniputt Open is run by The Miniputt Open ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you play, in the phone app or in a web browser at miniputt-play.spacedawg.co.uk, why, who else is involved, and the choices you have. Questions: support@spacedawg.co.uk.
What we store on our servers
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| A random device id and an account id, created when you first open the game | To keep your progress without asking you to sign up |
| If you link Google or Apple: that account's id, email address and name, and with Google your photo. Apple shares your name only the first time you sign in, and the email can be a private relay address if you chose Hide My Email | So you can sign in again on a new phone or in another browser |
| If you sign in with Apple: a token from Apple, kept encrypted | So we can disconnect the game from your Apple account when you delete your account |
| Your player name, avatar, friend code and friends list | To show you to other players and let you play friends |
| Game progress: level, coins, gems, balls, boosters, match and course results, rankings | To run the game and its leaderboards, and to spot cheating |
| Purchase records: product, store, order or transaction id, status and refunds | To deliver what you bought, exactly once, and to handle refunds |
| Rewarded ad records: which offer, when, whether it was granted, and whether it was shown in the app or on the web | To give ad rewards and keep to daily limits |
| Technical logs, including IP addresses, kept for a short time | To keep the service secure and fix problems |
We don't collect your real name, address or payment card details, and we don't sell personal data.
In-app purchases
Purchases are made through Google Play or Apple's App Store. They handle payment; we never see your card details. When you buy something, the game sends us the store's proof of purchase, and we check it with Google or Apple before adding it to your account. Google's and Apple's own privacy policies cover what they collect. There are no real-money purchases on the web.
Ads
In the app, the game shows ads from Google AdMob. Some you choose to watch for a reward; if enabled, others may appear when a match ends (never if you've bought Remove ads). AdMob may collect your device's advertising id, IP address and information about the ads you see, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
On the web, the game shows Google AdSense banners around the game, and rewarded ads you choose to watch come from Google's H5 Games Ads. There are no ads between matches on the web. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure these ads and to prevent fraud, and may collect your IP address and information about your browser and the ads you see. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- UK and EEA: we ask for your consent before personalised ads, using Google's consent tool. In the app, change your choice any time in Settings → Privacy & ad choices. On the web, Google's consent message asks you instead (see Cookies and browser storage below).
- iPhone: we ask permission before ads can use your device's advertising id. If you say no, ads still show but aren't personalised.
- When a rewarded ad finishes, AdMob tells our server, with your player id and a one-time code, so we can give you the reward.
- On the web, Google doesn't tell our server when an ad finishes, so the game claims the reward itself. To stop abuse, this needs you to be signed in with Google, waits a short minimum time after you start the ad, and runs a check by Cloudflare Turnstile in your browser. Cloudflare processes information such as your IP address and browser details to tell people from bots, and our server sends Cloudflare the check's result with your IP address. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.
Cookies and browser storage (web)
The web version keeps your sign-in token, device id, settings and some game data (such as your progress and avatar picture, so they show quickly) in your browser's storage for the game's site (IndexedDB), so you stay signed in between visits. The game itself doesn't set cookies. If you clear the site's data in your browser, you're signed out, and a guest account that isn't linked to Google can't be got back.
Google's ad tags and its Sign in with Google button, and Cloudflare Turnstile when it runs, may set cookies or use similar technologies of their own. In the UK and EEA, Google's consent message asks for your choice about cookies and personalised ads the first time you visit. You can change your choice later through the consent message, or by clearing the site's cookies in your browser so it asks again. You can also manage personalised ads in Google's My Ad Center.

Children
The game isn't directed at children, and in the app we tell AdMob not to treat players as children. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you play. Delete it any time in Settings → Delete account: your profile, progress, scores and friends are removed straight away, and if you signed in with Apple, we tell Apple to disconnect the game from your Apple account. Purchase and currency records, rewarded ad records and reports are deleted 6 years after each was made, whether or not you still have an account (a one-off purchase, like Remove ads, is kept while your account is open). After you delete your account we keep them until then, for accounting, tax, refunds, fraud prevention and dealing with cheating and abuse, with your name taken off the purchase and currency records. Server logs and backups are gone within 30 days. Delete your account or data lists exactly what's deleted and kept, and how to ask by email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email support@spacedawg.co.uk with your friend code. To delete your account or some of your data, follow the steps on Delete your account or data. In the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the game.
